NEW YORK (Scrap Register): The NYC Curb-to-Market Challenge is using a $500,000 prize incentive to generate market opportunities for recyclable materials in New York City.
The competition seeks the most efficient and sustainable process for converting locally generated recyclable materials into a product that would be manufactured in the city and sold to the largest potential local market.
The winning business plan will receive a $100,000 cash prize and a $400,000 equity investment in the startup company.
The winner also will receive advice from CTMC founder Chris Graff of Brooktrout Partners (Polebridge, Mont.), an entrepreneur and part-time New Yorker.
The deadline to submit a plan is June 1, and CTMC will announce the winner July 1.
